and another riddle

2. I never was, am always to be, no-one ever saw me, nor ever will. yet I am the confidence of all to live and breathe on this terrestrial ball. What am I?

okay and the final question:

Eighteen people stood in three queues in the post office. One third were in the first queue: and of those remaining, two thirds were in the second queue: and the rest were in the third queue. All were waiting to buy first class stamps, second class stamps and each also wanted an additional item. Every queue consisted of equal numbers of men and women, with each man standing directly behind a woman.

Everyone wanted exactly the same number of first class stamps as their position in the queue. Any man in any queue who wanted fewer than five first class stamps also wanted three second class stamps. Any woman who wanted more than four first class stamps also wanted two second class stams. Everyone else wanted just one second class stamp.

Of the women, all of those who wanted a total of fewer than six stamsp also wanted to buy a TV stamp: and any who wanted a total of more than eight stamps also wanted to buy a birthday card.

Of the men, all those who wanted a total of fewer than six stamps also wanted to buy a birthday card and any who wanted a total of more than eight stamps also wanted to buy a TV stamp.

Of everyone else remaining, one man in each queue wanted to buy a packet of envelopes. All of those still remaining ( if any) wanted to buy postcards.

HOW MANY PEOPLE WANTED POSTCARDS?

okay, losers, So, the person who gets the most right will win the prize and i do hope that we have some good feedback on this quiz.

Everyone bend over, you are getting kicked in the behind!!!!!

Alrighty Losers,
This was not a good weigh in. We did not do well as a group. As I am writing this, I just finished having to have an MRI and now wear a stupid holter monitor again. I am to blame for this predicament, no one else. But, I am asking for your help. I don't want to just get myself healthy, I want to see my family healthy. so, lets get back on the band wagon and get to work.

Here's the dismal results, I know we can all do better. and my hats off to those who did lose, and I posted a percentage loss for some of us, even though it was a stretch on that loss.

here it is:

Susan- 1%
George- 1%
Jerri 1%
Jill 0%
April 1%
Lori 1%
Kristy 1%

but we had two who gained: here's my finger wagging at you two, but please please get back to work

Jason- +2%
Todd +2.4%

and our big winner so far, without Chris being in yet, is>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Janet- with 2.1% loss. Janet emailed me that she is on her way to Germany for a visit, but when she returns, she will have a prize awaiting her, unless of course Chris beats her out. Hoo Rah for Janet and all of us.

We lost a total of 12.2 pounds, but our group also gained a total of 13.5 pounds, not going in the right direction.

So far our group has lost a total of 89.8 pounds which i think is remarkable. That is just fantastic. So, lets all get back to work, I know we can all do it. The big prize is seeing us all healthy when we get back together.

Good Luck everyone, and great going for everyone too.

Get to work, and I love you all.

Go Losers!!!!!!!

Happy Valentines Day Losers

Hi Losers,

Happy Valentine's day to everyone. Here's to being a good loser this year. So, if you are into getting or giving gifts then go forth and enjoy them. Personally I will take a gift any day of the year and if you want to hear that you are my sweetie then, hey i will ablige that too just to get the gift. But, seriously, I hope all of you are sticking to our game and what we are all trying to accomplish.
If you have read Lori's blog, she has challenged each of us to walk 10,000 steps each day. That is a good challenge and hopefully all of you can accomplish that. Good luck to that.

But, getting back to valentines day. One year when I was stationed in Korea, I decided to send mom a beautiful box of chocolates. It was a gorgeous box, beautiful red satin ribbons with satiny roses and sequins adorning the box. The candy in it looked pretty good too. Well, I just couldn't send that alone, I also included in the shipping box a can of kimchi, which if some of you don't know, is a Korean dish made out of fermented cabbage. It is made similar to pickles, however, it is stored in big pottery urns and buried in the ground to ferment for any amount of time. Some of the kimchi's include other vegetables such as onions, carrots, radishes, cucumbers, etc. It has a definite distinct odor to it and at every meal that you eat in any Korean restaurant you will be served a variety of small dishes to accompany your meal that have different kimchi's in them. Trust me, your breath will be a lethal weapon after you eat kimchi.
Well, I sent the beautiful box of candy and the can of kimchi to mom. It was a few weeks after valentines day, I hadn't heard from her as to whether or not she received the candy, so I wrote to her and asked her about it. She told me that she had indeed received a package from me, but when the postman delivered it to her, he told her that he had to make a special trip for her package alone and he had put it in the back of his old farm truck to deliver it. Apparently the can of kimchi had burst and there was an odor that came from the box that was pretty disgusting and he did not want to keep it in the post office any more time than he had to. Mom said when he delivered it to her, the package was so smelly that she promptly carried it over to an old metal burn barrel we had in the back yard and burned it. Alas, she never got to see the box of candy in it. When I heard about what had happened, I laughed so hard, I am sure that mom never got another valentine quite like that one.

Well, i can imagine that some of you have received some doozies as far as valentines day is concerned. So, lets hear some stories, lets share some funnies with everyone. It doesn't have to be all mush and goo. Hey, you never know when one of you might receive a can of kimchi from me one day, you all are such sweeties. and hey, I am sure that there are few if any calories in kimchi.

So, lets go losers, and hear the stories.

oh, and don't forget the bi monthly weigh in on the 15th. Easy on the chocolate between now and then.

later losers,
Susan

George- 2.2%
Jerri- same
Janet- same
Jill- 1%
April- same
Chris- 1%
Todd- 1.2%
Kristy- same enough
Lori- 2.4%

and the winner is.................................as if any of you cannot guess already, and a big wahooo to
him

Jason- 3.5% HOOO RAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a group we lost a total of 29 pounds, did not quite make the challenge that Todd set out, but we all did really well,

we have gone from a grand group total of 2619, to 2542.3. thats 76.7 pounds, pretty good in my book.

I am proud of everyone, lets keep up the good work, its sweetheart month, don't let all the goodies all over the markets sway you, keep up the good recipes, exercising and all the good thoughts.

Good Job Jason!!!! What a guy.

Lets all send Jason a big hug and yes he will get his prize in the mail as well as a late one due to Todd for the poetry contest.

Oh, and I have a really good doozie quiz for you guys in a week. I figured since this month, so many highly intelligent people have been born, that I surely must include a good contest this month. So be prepared, in about a week, and we will have our bi monthly weigh in on Sunday the 15th. So, forget the chocolate, at least a little bit.

Go Losers,
Susan

Sorry about the delay

I am so sorry about the delay. I had to go back and see the heart doctor. Was having some funky feelings going on and too much leg pain. Yes, I did see the heart specialist, he was not happy with how the results were with the tests that had been done at my regular doctor, so he has put me on another holter monitor, and next week I will have a stress test and a new Echo. So, Jer and Glenn, I did follow up with the doctor, and I am getting seen okay. I had not seen him in over a year, so, shame on me.
I have also been extremely busy trying to find any and all avenues for jobs. I went to a couple of job fairs just recently and got some more leads. I think in one day I sent or faxed in 18 applications to different places. I just wish that one would at least call me back. Please wish me luck there.

Anyway, I will get those Jan/ Feb results posted tonight. I want all of you to know that we are all doing really really well. So, hang in there , all the super bowl recipe ideas were really cool. I hope everyone enjoyed the game, it was pretty good.
This is heart month, everyone please think good thoughts for every one in that regard, and keep up the good exercise, and good eating habits. Its coming along really well.
Talk soon and I will post the new results super soon. like in just abit.
go losers,
susan
